The role of social media in political processes is one of the most prominent topics in contemporary public and academic debates. This research concentrates on this interplay from different theoretical and methodological perspectives. Its focus covers both strategic communication of political actors as well as the patterns and effects of citizens’ social media use. The project consists of several sub-research, some of them are embedded into international research projects.
